Have Questions? Find answers here
1. What is the Crossroads 102 Campaign?
The Crossroads 102 Campaign is a district-wide effort inviting all 102 churches of the Crossroads District to participate in strengthening the future of Fairmount Camp.
The goal is to raise $100,000 during 2026–2027. Every dollar raised through the campaign will be matched as part of Fairmount Camp's Lilly Endowment matching opportunity, creating a $200,000 investment in the future of Fairmount Camp.
2. Why is Fairmount Camp conducting this campaign?
Fairmount Camp is seeking to strengthen and improve the facilities that support its ministry to children, young people, families, and adults throughout the Crossroads District.
The Lilly Endowment matching opportunity makes it possible to make significant capital improvements that will help Fairmount Camp continue providing meaningful ministry experiences for future generations.
3. Why did Lilly Endowment Inc. choose Fairmount Camp?
Lilly Endowment Inc. recognized the significant impact of Fairmount Camp's ministry, particularly its ministry, to children and young people, and selected Fairmount Camp for a $2.5 million matching grant.
This provides the opportunity for a $5 million investment in Fairmount Camp's future when the required matching funds are raised.
4. How much money has Fairmount Camp already raised?
More than $1.8 million has already been pledged toward the overall Faithful Through Generations Capital Campaign.
Approximately $700,000 remains to be raised to secure the full Lilly Endowment matching opportunity.
The Crossroads 102 Campaign is one part of completing that effort.
5. What is the overall Lilly Endowment opportunity?
Lilly Endowment Inc. has awarded Fairmount Camp a $2.5 million matching grant.
When Fairmount Camp raises the required matching funds, the opportunity creates a $5 million investment in capital improvements and the future of Fairmount Camp.
6. Is the Crossroads 102 Campaign asking every church to give the same amount?
No.
The campaign is intentionally not based on equal gifts. Every church has different circumstances and resources. The goal is united participation, not equal giving.
Every church matters. Every gift matters. Every generation matters.
7. Is there a required amount for our church?
No.
There is no required financial amount and no required method of participation. Each church can prayerfully determine what participation looks like for its congregation.
8. When can our church participate?
The participation window is 2026–2027.
Your church may determine the timing that works best for your congregation. For example, a church may make a church board contribution, hold a Fairmount Camp Offering Sunday, or combine the two to provide an opportunity for the entire congregation to participate.
9. How can our church participate?
Each church can determine the approach that best fits its congregation.
Possibilities include:
  • A church board contribution
  • A Fairmount Camp Offering Sunday
  • A combination of a church board contribution and Fairmount Camp Offering Sunday
  • Individual or family giving
  • Another church-developed opportunity
These are examples, not requirements.
10. What is a Fairmount Camp Offering Sunday?
A church may designate a Sunday to highlight Fairmount Camp and receive a special offering as part of the Crossroads 102 Campaign.
Fairmount Camp will provide simple resources to make this easy, including a bulletin/newsletter announcement, a one-page campaign information sheet, and access to the campaign video.
11. Does our church have to conduct an offering?
No.
A Fairmount Camp Offering Sunday is simply one option for participation. Each church determines what approach is appropriate.
12. Can our church combine a church board contribution with a Fairmount Camp Offering Sunday?
Absolutely.
A church board contribution combined with a Fairmount Camp Offering Sunday provides an opportunity for both church leadership and the entire congregation to participate in the Crossroads 102 Campaign.
13. What is the Church Participation Kit?
The Church Participation Kit is a simple collection of resources designed to help a church learn about the campaign and determine how it might participate.
It includes:
  • Campaign Overview/Brochure
  • Frequently Asked Questions
  • Newsletter and Bulletin Resources
  • Fairmount Camp Offering Sunday Resources
  • Campaign Video
  • Fairmount Camp Contact Information
14. Does our church need to make a financial decision when we receive the Participation Kit?
No.
The kit is provided to help your church understand the opportunity and discuss it with your leadership. You do not need to determine a financial amount before contacting Fairmount Camp.
15. Can someone from Fairmount Camp come and speak to our church or Board?
Yes.
Fairmount Camp is available to answer questions and, when requested, provide a presentation for church leadership or the congregation.
16. Where will the money go?
Gifts to the Faithful Through Generations Capital Campaign will support capital improvements that will strengthen Fairmount Camp's ministry for future generations.
Projects and improvements being considered include a recreation center, lodge facilities, a maintenance barn, an upgraded playground, and other camp improvements that will provide better spaces and resources for children, young people, families, and adults.
17. How will this capital campaign impact the ministries of the Crossroads District?
The campaign will strengthen a ministry that serves churches and families throughout the Crossroads District.
Improved facilities will allow Fairmount Camp to provide better ministry environments, expanded opportunities, and improved experiences for children, young people, families, and adults from across the district.
Ultimately, the goal is not simply to improve buildings. It is to strengthen the ministry that takes place in those buildings and create opportunities for more people to encounter Jesus Christ and grow in their faith.
18. Is this money for Fairmount Camp's regular operating expenses?
No.
The Faithful Through Generations Campaign is a capital campaign. Gifts are directed toward capital improvements rather than regular operating expenses.
19. What happens if our church isn't ready to participate right away?
That's okay.
The participation window extends through 2027. Fairmount Camp will continue to provide information, answer questions, and encourage churches as they determine the timing and approach that works best for them.
20. Who should we contact with questions?

FAITHFUL THROUGH GENERATIONS

Crossroads 102 Campaign
For more than 130 years, Fairmount Camp has been a ministry for the Crossroads District, helping children, teenagers, families, and adults grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ. Through the years, countless lives have been changed, particularly through the camp’s ministry to children and young people.
Because of the impact of this ministry, Lilly Endowment Inc. selected Fairmount Camp to receive a $2.5 million matching grant. This extraordinary opportunity can create a $5 million investment in the future of Fairmount Camp through needed capital improvements.
As part of this opportunity, the Crossroads 102 Campaign is inviting the 102 churches of the Crossroads District to join together in raising $100,000 during 2026–2027. With the Lilly match, this will create a $200,000 investment in Fairmount Camp and its ministry to future generations.
Our church is excited to be part of this effort through:
Example: Fairmount Camp Offering Sunday
This is more than an investment in buildings. It is an investment in a ministry that helps future generations encounter Jesus, grow in faith, and discover God's purpose for their lives.
Every church matters. Every gift matters. Every generation matters.

Dr. jim dunn, general superintendent, statement of support
My memories of Fairmount Camp go back more than 50 years. From sitting with my parents in Family Camp services to attending youth camp, Fairmount Camp has helped form me into the person I am today. In fact, there were many moments at an altar of prayer when my life took significant strides into a deeper life with Jesus on those sacred grounds.
The Wesleyan Church started as a Camp Meeting in many ways from the earliest circuit riders who traveled the countryside preaching the Gospel. I pray that same focus and passion will continue in the next 50 years and beyond through the ministries of Fairmount Camp. My prayers are big for the many spiritual decisions that will be made in the future because of the Crossroads 102 Campaign and the faithfulness of the Good News of Jesus being proclaimed loud and long.
God be with you all!
Dr. Jim Dunn
General Superintendent, The Wesleyan Church
dr. chris williams, district superintendent, statement of support
On Monday afternoon I sat down with Krista Brown, Executive Director of Fairmount Camp, an affiliate ministry of the Crossroads District. Fairmount Camp has been serving churches in this part of Indiana since 1895, and many pastors, missionaries, and church leaders first sensed God's call on those grounds. Lilly Endowment Inc. has awarded the camp a $2.5 million matching grant, so every dollar given to the Faithful Through Generations capital campaign is matched. More than $1.8 million has already been pledged, and roughly $700,000 remains to secure the full match. The funds will modernize aging infrastructure and expand the camp into a year-round ministry, including a new multipurpose recreation center and a heated and cooled lodge and retreat center.

As part of that effort, the camp has launched the Crossroads 102 Campaign and is inviting the churches of our district to help raise a combined $100,000 during 2026 and 2027, every dollar of it matched. Here is what I would ask of you. Bring this to the Lord and to your leadership team, prayerfully consider whether God is leading your church to invest in this work, and then be obedient to what he shows you. If you have questions or you'd like more information contact Krista Brown at (765) 948-4836 or [email protected], or visit fairmountcamp.org.
$2.5 Million
Matching Challenge Investment

Join us in this exciting opportunity to support Fairmount Camp. Every gift made will be matched - doubling your impact and helping bring our vision to life.

Frequently Asked Questions

What's a matching grant? how does it work?
A matching grant means that every dollar raised through our capital campaign will be matched dollar-for-dollar, up to $2.5 million. If we reach our goal, the grant doubles the impact to a total of $5 million in support.
How will the funding be used?
These funds will support major camp improvements, including site developments, construction of multiple new buildings, and related planning, design, and infrastructure needs. To see a more detailed breakdown list of projects, please refer to the pictures below.
How will progress be shared?
Updates on fundraising progress, project milestones, and construction developments will be shared regularly through this page of our website as well as occasionally on our Facebook page and email newsletter. If you would like to be added to our newsletter for updates, please let us know here.
When will construction begin?
Site development for Heritage Lodge, the new multi-purpose building has already begun! We hope to start construction for the building in the spring of 2027. Heritage Lodge is funded by Phase 2.
Phase 3 projects begin with a new Maintenance Facility on the east end of the campground. Our Maintenance Facility will begin construction by the end of 2026. This new facility will allow the camp to safely and securely keep all of our equipment and tools in one location. In addition, the Maintenance Facility will allow us to remove the old Shop and open up the green space.
The second project in Phase 3 is our new water lines for the cabin and camper areas.
Other project timelines depend on fundraising progress and planning milestones. Once funding targets are met and designs are finalized, construction will begin in phases.
What happens if the $2.5 million goal is not reached?
Only funds raised are matched. Reaching the full goal ensures we receive the maximum benefit of the grant opportunity.
How can i contribute to matching campaign?
Gifts can be made as one-time donations or recurring commitments. Every contribution helps move us closer to unlocking the full match!
Donate
How long will the capital campaign last?
The campaign is planned over a 3 year period, aligned with the matching grant timeline.
How can i make a 3 year pledge?
Join the campaign with a 3-year pledge! Click here for a pledge card.
